Students & Work Experience
Our centre is actively supports early childhood students from a variety of learning providers including North Regional Tafe, Universities, East Kimberley College, Kimberley Group Training and other private Registered Training Organizations and schools. We have also hosted students from Halls Creek, Warmum, Wyndham, Queensland, NSW and Perth in the past.
The students work closely with our Educators who guide, mentor and role-model high quality practices. The students are accountable to the Coordinator and Room Leaders and are required to hold a Working with Children Check if they are over 16 years of age.
We believe that it is very important for students studying Early Childhood courses to be a part as much as possible of our centre and the room they may be in. We will offer them support and encouragement throughout their time with us.
Students may be required as part of their study to take written observations of the children during their time with us. Parent permission will be sought for this for anyone student who is not a direct employee of the centre.
Our centre is actively involved in different committees that support local East Kimberley women to enter the workforce and undertake appropriate study within this profession, and pride ourselves on being a supportive organisation within the East Kimberley.
